This explainer film, created for the Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat, explores the complex topic of interoperability within governmental systems, focusing on how seamless communication between different organizations and platforms is critical for effective governance and crisis management.

The film not only explains the technical details of interoperability but also tells a tragic and emotional story, humanized through sympathetic characters. Through a strong dramatic structure, the narrative builds suspense and engagement, allowing the audience to connect with the issue on a personal level.

The illustrations are carefully designed to simplify the complex concepts of interoperability while maintaining a visually appealing style. The use of expressive characters and poignant moments helps emphasize the human impact of these technical processes, making a seemingly dry topic both understandable and emotionally compelling.

As the Art Director, I guided the visual direction to ensure that the illustrations and animation worked together seamlessly to support the emotional narrative and technical details. The goal was to create a balance between clarity and emotional resonance, telling the story in a way that not only educates but also leaves a lasting impression on the viewer.
